The fine art of gardening is flourishing in Charlotte! With the beautiful temperate climate Charlotte enjoys and the abundance of warm rain and plenty of sun, the gardens here take on a rain forest quality all their own. See Charlotte's finest in flora. Choose from:

• The Botanical Gardens at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte: These botanical gardens include the Van Landingham Glen, which is the largest rhododendron garden in the Southeast.
  

• The McMillan Greenhouse Complex: This complex contains an outstanding orchid collection and a variety of plants found in the tropical rain forest.
  
  
• Wing Haven Gardens and Bird Sanctuary: This lovely site was developed in 1927 by Elizabeth and Edwin Clarkson. The formal gardens were created to provide strolling vistas and plantings that attract birds.
  
  
•  The McGill Rose Gardens: Begun in the 1950s as a way to beautify what was then an industrial part of Charlotte, this garden is a fragrant oasis in the midst of the Queen City.
   
• Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens: Located in Gaston County, this ever expanding garden and gift shop are delightful.
  

All garden tours are set up as pre-arranged group tours and will be held rain or shine and are subject to the gardens' respective hours of operation.
